Renovation Licence Pathway

We have three study options that you can fit into your already busy schedule:

ONLINE TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT WORKSHOP

Instead of rushing from work to class, you now have time to go home, settle in, grab a snack, then simply login to learn. Virtual classrooms are just like a real class except from the comfort of your own home. All you need is your laptop/tablet/computer, a quiet place, and speakers or headphones. Once you login to learn you feel connected to educators and colleagues, as well as having access to our learning resources, videos and more! You can then choose to attend the practical one-day workshop or provide us with video and photographic evidence to demonstrate your experience in fabricating and installing furniture. 

RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process by which you can achieve a nationally recognised qualification, without the need to attend classes. You are assessed by providing us with evidence of the knowledge, skills and experience you have gained on the worksite. Best of all, you can provide demonstrations of your on-site practical tasks connecting by WhatsApp or FaceTime with one of our industry expert trainers.

4-DAY WORKSHOP

Improve your existing renovating skills with the experts at the Master Builders purpose-built training facility. In just 4-days of attendance, you will learn the practical processes of coordinating renovation projects and how to achieve the best outcomes for your clients. During the 4-days of attendance, you will be assessed through knowledge questions, practical observations and a portfolio of evidence. Upon successful completion, you could be on your pathway to a renovation licence.

To apply for the Master Builders renovation licence pathway courses, you must have the following minimum entry requirements:

• At least 1 or more years of full-time work experience in KBLR within the last 10 years
• Have a valid White Card
• Currently working on-site in this field and access to tools of the trade
• Hold a current contractor’s licence or provide details of 2 qualified/licensed referees within KBLR or cabinet making to confirm your work history/experience who have worked with you for 12 months or more
• Successfully complete our building and construction online quiz
• Successfully complete our referee checking process

NSW Fair Trading provides all licensing for tradespeople who work in the building and construction industry of New South Wales. Our previously completed students who are on the pathway have success with licence approvals by NSW Fair Trading.
