CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) – Online

This course may be subsidised by the NSW Government Smart and Skilled initiative. If you are eligible for the government subsidy, your student fee will be determined by the NSW Government. Smart and Skilled prices are subject to funding availability. A quote of applicable fees and funding will be provided prior to enrolment.

Note: On enrolment, you will be invoiced for $1,000.00. This consists of a non-refundable administration fee. According to the Standards for RTOs 2015, at no stage will Master Builders charge more than $1,500 in advance of services being provided.

Instead of rushing from the worksite to a classroom, you now have time to go home, settle in, grab a snack, and then simply log in to learn. Online learning is just like a real class except from the comfort of your own home.

All you need is your laptop/tablet/computer, a quiet place, speakers or headphones, and a microphone. Once you log in to learn you'll be connected to educators and colleagues, as well as having access to our learning resources, videos and more!

To support your learning recorded tutorial videos can be accessed at any time along with course notes. Students now have the flexibility to watch these videos at any time, or multiple times and can start/stop when needed. This is beneficial for revisiting or reinforcing what you are learning.

Live Q&A forums give you the best chance to understand the course content and how it applies to construction job roles in a live environment. Learn from industry expert trainers and ask them questions to gain valuable information to help complete your assessments. Students can join a Live Q&A forum on weekday evenings.

The CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) course is designed to enable potential builders and others in the industry to improve their business skills and technical knowledge so that they can successfully manage their building and construction business and projects.

The qualification has core units of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry. The industry requires general employability skills such as:

Master Builders applies the following entry requirements:

• a minimum of three (3) years full-time (or equivalent) experience in the building and construction industry working under a builder or construction company (experience must be within the last 10 years).
• a minimum of six (6) months supervisory experience supervising communication and administration processes for building and construction projects or hold a Certificate IV in Building and Construction.
• a valid White Card (General Construction Induction card)
• reference from licenced builder you have worked for at least 12 months that confirms your employment history
• access to building projects up to three (3) storeys for;
  - Residential – NCC Class 1 and 10 buildings, and
  - Commercial – NCC Class 2 to 9, Type C and B construction
• able to answer at least 65% of the technical industry questions correctly during your application process.

This online course has been designed to meet part of the NSW Fair Trading criteria to apply for a Building Licence. NSW Fair Trading have specific criteria in addition to this qualification. Visit the NSW Fair Trading website for further information

Enrolment Conditions

Master Builders has enrolment conditions to help you progress through your training:

• Students cannot enrol in more than one online qualification and/or program at the same time.
• Students cannot undertake more than two programs in total at a time.
• This does not include our online Professional Development, CPD Made Easier, or short 1 or 2 day courses.

The program is designed to be able to be completed within  a maximum time of 24 months.

We recommend committing 10-15 hours per week to the course to complete it within 24 months.

Our completed students who are on the pathway to a building licence have success with licence applications by Fair Trading NSW. 

The qualification pathway below may apply to most people, but with your individual circumstances, you might be on a different pathway. Previous versions of the qualifications may also be accepted. It is recommended you contact Fair Trading NSW for clarification.
